Terms of Service
Last updated June 19, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Statside ("Statside", "we", "us") and govern your access to and use of the Statside website, applications, and services (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, keeping stats, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Data Collection policy, which are incorporated here by reference. If you use the Service on behalf of a team, league, school, or other organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization.
2. The service we provide
Statside is a tool for keeping live game statistics across multiple sports, computing season totals and leaderboards, running leagues and brackets, and publishing public team pages and embeddable widgets. The Service depends on information that you and other users enter. We do not generate, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any statistics, scores, or other content that users record.
3. Your account and eligibility
You must provide accurate account information and keep it current. You are responsible for safeguarding your password and for all activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old to create an account, and if you are between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you may only use the Service with the involvement of a parent, guardian, coach, or other responsible adult. Accounts are intended for coaches, statisticians, league staff, parents, and other adults who manage teams.
4. Content and data you submit
You retain ownership of the content you submit, including team names, logos, colors, rosters, player information, photographs, and statistics ("Your Content"). You grant Statside a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, and transmit Your Content solely to operate, maintain, and improve the Service, including displaying it on public pages and embeds that you choose to enable.
You are responsible for Your Content and for having all rights and permissions necessary to submit it. You must not upload logos, images, or other materials that infringe a third party's rights.
5. Consent and authority for player data
Many athletes whose information is entered into the Service are minors. By adding or editing information about any individual, including a player's name, jersey number, position, biography, photograph, or statistics, you represent and warrant that you have the authority and any consent required from that individual, or from a parent or legal guardian where the individual is a minor, to provide that information and to have it processed and, if you enable it, displayed publicly.
If a player, parent, or guardian asks you to remove or correct information, you agree to do so promptly using the team and roster tools, or to forward the request to us. We provide tools to keep team and player pages private and to delete information at any time.
6. Public pages, embeds, and sharing
The Service lets you publish public team and game pages and embed live scores on other websites. When you enable public visibility, information such as team names, player names, jersey numbers, and statistics becomes viewable by anyone with the link, and may be indexed by search engines or cached by third parties. You control whether a team is public, and you can disable public visibility at any time, though copies that others have already made or that search engines have cached are outside our control.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- submit information about a person without the authority or consent described above;
- upload unlawful, infringing, harassing, defamatory, or harmful content;
- use the Service to harm minors in any way;
- attempt to access accounts, data, or systems that are not yours;
- scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract data except through features we provide;
- interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service;
- reverse engineer or attempt to derive source code, except where the law permits; or
- use the Service to violate any applicable law or regulation.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, text, and the Statside name and marks, is owned by Statside and protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, we reserve all rights. You may not use our name or marks without our prior written permission.
9. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers for hosting, storage, email, and optional AI features, and may link to third-party websites. We are not responsible for third-party services or content, and your use of them may be subject to their own terms. Optional AI game recaps send game and statistical data to an AI provider to generate text; you can instead use the deterministic recap that the Service produces without any AI provider.
10. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Plans. The Service offers a free plan and paid subscription plans. The features and price of each plan are described on our pricing page at the time you subscribe. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time, but we will not reduce the core functionality of a plan you have already paid for during your current billing period.
Billing and auto-renewal. Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly or annual cycle, depending on the option you choose at checkout. Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and your payment method is charged at each renewal, until you cancel. Payments are processed by our payment provider, Stripe; we do not store your card details.
Free trial. Paid plans may include a free trial (currently 14 days). We collect a payment method when the trial starts, and your payment method is charged automatically when the trial ends unless you cancel before the trial period is over. You can cancel during the trial at no charge.
Cancellation. You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account page or through the Stripe billing portal linked there. Cancellation stops future renewals: your plan stays active until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and you will not be charged again after that.
Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and we do not provide refunds or credits for partial billing periods, unused time, or downgrades. If you cancel, you keep access for the remainder of the period you paid for.
Price changes. We may change the price of paid plans. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days' notice by email to the address on your account before the new price applies to your subscription, so you can cancel before the change takes effect. Continuing your subscription after the new price takes effect means you accept it.
Taxes and failed payments. Prices may not include applicable taxes, which are added at checkout where required. If a renewal payment fails, we may retry it and notify you; if it continues to fail, we may downgrade your account to the free plan.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error free, or that any statistics or other content recorded by users are accurate or complete.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Statside and its officers, employees, and suppliers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the Service. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred United States dollars.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Statside from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of Your Content, your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or the rights of any person, including any claim that you lacked the authority or consent to submit information about an individual.
14. Suspension and termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, the rights granted to you end, and we may delete Your Content, subject to our Privacy Policy and applicable law.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. You agree that any dispute relating to these Terms or the Service will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, and you consent to their personal jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
